Weddings Whitsundays Advisory Group Kicks Off Big Plans for 2025/26

A significant milestone for the Whitsundays wedding industry was reached on Tuesday, July 7th, as the inaugural Weddings Whitsundays Advisory Group convened for its first meeting. This gathering signals the official start of a dynamic new phase for the region’s dedicated wedding industry marketing and support hub, promising substantial advancements and a heightened focus on promoting the Whitsundays as Australia’s premier wedding destination.

The Advisory Group, comprised of self-nominated industry stakeholders, engaged in productive discussions, laying the groundwork for the 2025/26 financial year. A core focus was on solidifying crucial marketing elements and defining the strategic approach that will elevate the Whitsundays’ presence in the competitive wedding market. The collective expertise within the group ensured robust planning for initiatives designed to deliver maximum impact for Weddings Whitsundays members.

Crucially, the Advisory Group confirmed its broad regional remit, encompassing the vibrant wedding landscapes of Airlie Beach, Bowen, Collinsville, and Proserpine. This expanded scope ensures that members from the diverse townships across the Whitsundays region will benefit from the group’s strategic direction and promotional efforts.

A schedule for regular advisory group meetings was also established, ensuring ongoing collaboration and responsiveness to industry needs.
