Get Connected: Business Support in the Spotlight at 2025 Whitsunday Business Conference

July 23, 2025 by Chamber Liaison

The Whitsundays Chamber of Commerce and Industry is pleased to announce Get Connected: Who’s Here to Help Your Business? — a unique, interactive session in the 2025 Whitsunday Business Conference program, designed to help local businesses connect directly with the organisations ready to support their success.

Held as a fast-paced, engaging segment of the full-day conference, Get Connected will introduce attendees to key agencies and programs across all levels of government and regional development.

Each participating organisation will deliver a concise, three-minute overview covering who they are, what they do, and why local businesses should connect with them.

Following the introductions, attendees will participate in two rounds of small group speed dating — 10-minute facilitated discussions with the organisations of their choice. This format gives businesses the opportunity to ask specific questions, explore programs in more detail, and identify opportunities for support and collaboration.

Participating organisations include:

  • Georgia Lavers, Greater Whitsunday Alliance and Greater Whitsunday Regional Jobs Committee
  • Gerard Millican, Queensland Government Department of Small and Family Business’ Business Concierge
  • Kirra Tully, Greater Whitsundays Innovation
  • Paul Hanlon, Whitsunday Regional Council Economic Development, Investment & Growth
  • Rob Cocco, Regional Development Australia Greater Whitsunday
  • Roxanne Birse, Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations

If attendees don’t get to speak with everyone on the day, they’ll have the opportunity to leave their details and a question, and the relevant organisation will follow up post-conference.

This session is part of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to ensuring Whitsunday businesses are informed, equipped, and supported to thrive.
