Concurrent Workshops Announced: Local experts to lead game-changing business sessions at 2025 Whitsunday Business Conference

June 17, 2025 by Chamber Liaison

The Whitsundays Chamber of Commerce and Industry is proud to unveil three concurrent workshop sessions featured in the 2025 Whitsunday Business Conference program, each designed to offer practical strategies for growth, leadership, and impact.

These locally led sessions will run as part of the first breakout round of the conference, from 11:45am-12:30pm Thursday 28 August, delivering real tools and case studies from industry practitioners with deep roots in the Whitsundays and surrounding regions.

Attendees will select the session most relevant to their business needs, ensuring a personalised and impactful conference experience.

CONCURRENT SESSION 1
The Art of Feedback: The F-word that could save your team & your business

Presented by Judy Porter (Shiift)

Most people are either too nice, too blunt, or avoid feedback like it’s radioactive. But feedback isn’t just a performance tool — it’s a superpower. In this, interactive workshop, we’ll flip the script on feedback: how to give it without triggering defensiveness, how to receive it without spiralling, and how to use it to motivate and grow your team. Expect real talk, practical tools & templates, and maybe a few uncomfortable truths. Ready to turn feedback from awkward to awesome?

CONCURRENT SESSION 2
Business & Community: Partnering for positive impact case studies

Discussion panel with:

  • Rebecca Woods (Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre)
  • Annika Thomson (Ocean Crusaders)
  • Courtney Quinn-McCabe (Tassal Proserpine Prawn Farm)
  • Libby Edge (Eco Barge Australia)

This session explores the power of corporate social responsibility (CSR) done right. Attendees will hear local case studies on how partnerships between business and community organisations are creating real change—from supporting over 5,500 locals through the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre, to Ocean Crusaders’ zero-emissions recycling initiatives, to Tassal’s collaboration with Eco Barge on turtle rescue efforts. Attendees will walk away with ideas to embed sustainability and purpose into their business strategy while delivering long-term community impact.

CONCURRENT SESSION 3
From Solo to Scalable: Building a business that works with you

Presentations by Corrina Lindby (The Answer is Yes) and Kate Tulett (Th3rd Dimension Media)

This practical session is designed for small to medium business owners ready to move beyond burnout. Corrina Lindby shares insights from mentoring over 80 consultants on how to scale with systems, automation, and confidence—showcasing the tools behind her 340+ module Answer Yes VIP platform. Kate Tulett will show how regional businesses can use tech-powered tools and content to streamline operations and enhance customer engagement. Together, they’ll offer a roadmap to future-proofing your business—without the big budget or big team.
